How to land a Teacher Job

Daniel Gallant
Grades 9-12
High School for Leadership and Public Service

I landed my first teaching job by sending my resume to every school in the NY/NJ area.
I landed my first teaching job because I possess these qualities persistence, courage, drive, outgoing, and willing to put forth to see the finished product.
Finding a teaching job can be hard, but here is some advice to make it easier never stop looking, and there are always openings if you are willing to work in less desireable locations.
This post is part of the Teaching Jobs Portal: “How to land a Teacher Job”. What was your journey like to become a teacher? If you’d like to share your experience with other aspiring teachers please see this post for more information.

America for America's Education

I think that the bigger focus on being an American citizen is important for the future of American edcuation. I'm glad to say that the district I am a part of highlights this every month. The students leave every day knowing that they should be proud to be an American, and should study with pride. By taking pride in their work, their appearance, and with all that they do, they are paying tribute to being American.

This post is part of the MAT@USC Hope for the holidays event. Did you experience or witness something in 2009 that gave you hope for the future of American education? If so, please see this post for more information on how to share it.
